Mt. Mizugaki, Yamanashi (June 24th)


Rhododendron degronianum (Azuma Shakunage) near the top of Mt. Mizugaki.

We went to Mt. Mizugaki in Yamanashi prefecture.
We took early trains to Nirasaki sta. and then took buses to the Mizugaki Sansou Hut.
The view from the bus was pretty amazing. There were small towns with rice field here and there in the middle of nowhere.
The mountain was pretty rocky one and tough for us, but the view from the top and a lot of Rhododendron flowers were so amazing!

山梨の瑞牆山に初めて出かけてきました。
朝早い電車で韮崎駅に7:38着。そこからバスを乗り継いで、瑞牆山荘に9時ごろ到着。
降り立ってすぐ気づいたのは、涼しい風の心地よさ…清々しい香りまでしていました。
途中、岩がちな道を進んでいくと、アズマシャクナゲの濃いピンクの花々にとりかこまれました。
頂上では、見事な見晴らしが楽しめました。


The Mizugaki Sansou Hut.
You can take bus from JR Nirasaki station. It costs 2000 yen.
The course to Mt. Mizugaki starts from there.
瑞牆山荘。
このすぐ向かいにバス停があります。(韮崎駅まで2000円)


After wondering around for an hour or so, we got to the Fujimidaira Hut.
The wind was cool and the greens were so beautiful.
10:20頃、富士見平小屋に到着。キョロキョロ植物を探しながら歩き回っていたので、ちょっと時間がかかってしまいました。


The Momotarou Rock. It was really huge.
桃太郎岩。パカッと割れてます。かなり巨大。


The trail was pretty rocky.
岩がちなトレイル。涼しいながらも段々と汗がふき出してきます。


Viola biflora (Kibana-no-Komanotsume).
There were lots of them blooming by the trail.
コース上で目立っていたのは、キバナノコマノツメ。


Schistostega pennata (Hikari Goke).
It is also called "goblin's gold" or "luminous moss" is a moss know for its glowing appearance in dark places.
ヒカリゴケと思われるものを発見。岩場の暗がりで、怪しく光っていました。


Mt. Fuji was showing on the way to the top of the mountain.
富士山も途中、顔を出し始めました。


Schizocodon ilicifolius var. australis (Akabana Hime Iwa Kagami).
岩場にたくさん咲いていました。

この周辺一帯でたくさん群生しているようです。
頂上直下周辺では、まだまだフレッシュな花が楽しめました。

As we went closer to the top, the both sides of the trail was covered with rhododendron blossoms!
頂上が近くなるにつれ、花数も増え、コースの両側を埋め尽くさんばかりに咲き乱れていました。

Amazing rocks!
面白い巨岩がたくさんあります。

It was so windy that my shirt wet with sweat got dry pretty quickly.
頂上では風がものすごく強くて、吹き飛ばされそうな勢いでした。12時半ごろ、到着。

This one was the most bright color one!
頂上で見つけた株。この株は、花色がよりいっそう鮮やかでした。

山頂で見つけた岩登りのおじさん…下り始めました。見てる方が恐い。

山荘近くの水辺で咲いています。

We came back to the starting point around 15:00. And we took the bus leaving at 15:30 bound for Nirasaki Sta.
山荘に3時ごろ戻ってきて、一休み。3時半発のバスで、韮崎駅に向かいました。

Mt. Akitakomagatake (June 18th, Part 2)

横岳に向かう途中、視界が開けて、小岳、大焼砂、さらにこれから国見に向かう尾根が見渡せました。

Here are the second bunch of the pictures taken on the 2nd day of our trip.
We walked from Mt. Yokodake to Kunimi hot spring via the Ooyakesuna area.

秋田駒2日目の写真、第2弾。
昼をすぎてガスも消え、風も少しは穏やかになってきました。
再び大焼砂を経由し、国見温泉におりていきます。

In the morning there weren't many flowers opening yet, but in the afternoon more of them were blooming!
数時間前の午前中にはまだ蕾ばかりが目立っていたのですが、お昼を過ぎて開花しているものが大分、目立っていました。

大焼砂…フェンスの向こうはもちろん、道の途中にも、たくさんのタカネスミレが生育しています。

We found just a couple of pink buds of Dicentra peregrina (Komakusa). There are lots of Dicentra peregrina (Komakusa) plants there, so it will be amazing in July or August!
気の早いコマクサがピンクの蕾をつけていました。

カップ型の葉っぱが可愛いです。


Potentilla matsumurae (Miyama Kinbai).
It was the best season for this kind of flower... They were blooming everywhere.

大焼砂を下りきって、「ムーミン谷」と国見方面への分岐を過ぎてすぐのところに、突如、出現。
たぶん、テリハかと思います。

ここにきてまたまたシラネアオイが登場。大分、疲れてきましたが、傍らの花々が目を楽しませてくれます。

国見への下りの道の両側をず~っと埋めつくしていました。

こちらもたくさん咲いています。葉っぱもきれいですよね。

It was so exciting to find this! It was our first time to see this kind of violet!
国見へ下る最後の分岐後の階段の途中で発見。
初めて見るその姿に思わず興奮…といっても、私たち以外、誰も足を止めません…

おそらく広さ、2畳ほどの小さなエリアに群生していました。

They were growing and forming a patch in a small area of the size of 2 Tatami mats.

葉の裏も見てみましたが、この辺のは緑色でした。

We found 4 of them blooming in the dark forrest.
薄暗い林床で、開花株を4つ、見つけました。

Mt. Akitakomagatake (June 18th, Part 1)


At the entrance of the course on our second day of our hike on Mt. Akitakomagatake.
秋田駒二日目の朝も霧に包まれています。

Here are the first bunch of the pictures taken on the second day of our trip in Mt. Akitakomagatake.

秋田駒2日目の写真。数が多いので、2つに分けて紹介します。
まずは第1弾。


Geum calthaefolium var. nipponicum (Miyama Daikon-sou).
There were lots of them, but we found only one blooming flower.
稜線では、ミヤマキンバイがこの時は主役でしたが、ミヤマダイコンソウも蕾をたくさんつけていました。

There are lots and lots of them growing there.

The backside of the petals does not have much dark color spots.
上弁の裏は、それほど赤茶の模様は入っていません。

The spur is pretty short and it is hard to see.
距はごく短いです。托葉は、鋸歯はほとんど見られず、なめらかな印象。

This kind of violet is one of the dominant plant at this area, accompanied with Dicentra peregrina (Komakusa).
コマクサとともに火山礫に埋め尽くされた大焼砂で、ある種ドミナントになっています。


The Ooyakesuna area is a huge volcanic scree slope filled with lapilli.
大焼砂の斜面を見ると青緑色の筋が見えます。これが全部、コマクサ…ということは、花の時期にはここがピンクに染まるのかぁ…見てみたい!


The valley between the Ooyakesuna area and some peaks: Mt. Kotake and Mt. Medake.
いわゆる「ムーミン谷」方面へ。雪がまだ結構、残っています。危険なところは全然ないです。


Geum pentapetalum (Chinguruma).
This valley is famous for its vast area covered with lovely white flowers of Geum pentapetalum (Chinguruma). But it was too early when we got there. The leaves were just coming out.
「ムーミン谷」の有名なチングルマもまだまだ葉を出し始めたばかりでした。


Soon after the Geum pentapetalum (Chinguruma) area, we started to climb up to the junction between Mt. Odake and the Amida pond.
男岳分岐への登り。この辺りの景色がすばらしかったです。

Looking back over the corse in the valley.
That snail-shaped mountain is Mt. Kotake.
振り返ると、これまで歩いてきた大焼砂とともに小岳の姿も見られます。
写真は載せてませんが、女岳からは噴煙が出ていました。

蕾のものもかなりたくさんありました。まだまだ楽しめそう。

Therorhodion camtschaticum or Rhododendron camtschaticum (Ezo Tsutsuji).
It was just starting to bud out.
たぶん、エゾツツジ?この花も是非、見てみたいです。



Back to the Amida pond.
ぐるっと阿弥陀池に再び戻ってきました。

After lunch, from here we once again went up to Mt. Yokodake and headed for Kunimi hot spring via the Ooyakesuna area again.
阿弥陀池避難小屋と男女岳。
お昼を食べた後、ここから再び横岳、大焼砂と経由して、国見温泉に向かいます。
