パンパスグラスがちょうど見頃。水生植物園では、秋の花がたくさん咲いてました。

Plum blossom "Usuiro Chirimen".

We went to Jindai Botanical Garden to see if any plum blossoms were blooming yet.
Quite a few plum blossoms were blooming there, and we found two kingfishers by the pond.

久しぶりに神代植物公園に行ってきました。
カンザクラも咲いていました。
自分もそろそろ冬眠から目覚めないとなぁ…

Jindai Botanical Garden, Chofu (May 25th)

 

Liriodendron tulipifera (Yuri-no-ki).

They call this blossom American tulip tree in English.

ユリノキが満開。こんなにきれいだったんですね。

     I've been busy and couldn't upload any pictures taken last weekend till now.
Here are some pictures taken in the Jindai Botanical Garden.  They held a rose festival and quite a few people were visiting the garden.

ムシムシした天候にちょっと疲れてしまって、更新が滞ってました。
先週末、出かけた神代植物公園の様子。バラ・フェスタ開催中でした。

Each branch was filled with lots of tiny white flowers.

Viola japonica (Ko Sumire) in our home garden.

    I caught a bad cold this weekend, so we didn't go to anywhere special.  Here are the pictures taken this weekend.

風邪をひいてしまい、今週末は自宅の近所にちょっと出かけただけで、家でじっとしてました。
自宅の鉢植えも花盛りです。近所の桜を見に行ったら、カワセミに出会いました。
神代植物公園の桜ライトアップを見に行ってきたのですが、照明の数が少ないのと配置が良くないためか、あまりぱっとしませんでした。桜自体は流石に散り始めでした。
今度の週末は、どこかにスミレ探しに行きたいなぁ…。

Jindai Botanical Garden, Chofu (March 3rd)

 

Helleborus (Christmas Rose).

    We went to Jindai Botanical Garden to see some plum blossoms.  In the garden, there were lots of Christmas roses blooming, too.  The Daruma Festival was held in the temple today, so there were a lot of people visiting the temple and the garden.

神代植物公園に出かけてきました。梅や蝋梅、マンサクなどの春の木の花がたくさん咲いていました。クリスマスローズもいろんな花色のものが咲いていました。改めて見るとかわいいですね。
今日は、深大寺で、だるま市が開かれていて、露店がたくさん出ていました。

The Daruma Festival was held today at the temple.

 

There were too many people, so we gave up eating lunch at the Soba restaurant and had some Okonomiyaki.
