Jindai Botanical Garden (March 3rd)

Plum blossom named "Beni-zuru".
Finally some plum blossoms start to bloom!

We went to Jindai Botanical Garden in Chofu today.
There were lots of people and we soon figured out today was the day for Daruma market.
It has been cold winter this year, so we finally found some plum blossoms blooming,
but they were still far from their peak.

奥多摩にでも行こうかと思っていたのですが、出遅れてしまって、結局、近所の神代植物公園へ。
予想外に混雑していてびっくりしたのですが、そう言えば、今日3月3日は、恒例のだるま市の日でした。
お目当ての梅の花は、まだあまりぱっとしない感じでした。今年は本当に遅れていますよね。
桜やスミレは、今年はどうなるのかなぁ…

「翡翠」つながりで、園内の温室では、ヒスイカズラが満開。
時々、ポトっと花が落ちてきます。

こちらは小石川植物園から寄贈されたものだそうです。


深大寺周辺では、たくさんの露店が立ち並んでにぎわっていました。

Jindai Botanical Garden (December 10th)

The brick-colored leaves of Taxodium distichum (Raku-u-shou) and Metasequoia glyptostroboides in Jindai Botanical Garden.

We went to Jindai Botanical Garden in Chofu.
The Metasequoia glyptostroboides trees turned brick color by the pond in the garden and we found some red maple trees, too. However, it seems that it is not so good as last year in the maple garden this year.

神代植物公園に出かけてきました。
メタセコイアが綺麗にレンガ色に染まっていました。カエデ類も紅葉しています。
公園内のモミジ園でも、イロハモミジを中心に紅葉が楽しめますが、去年よりは少し物足りない感じでした。

Jindai Botanical Garden (November 26th)

The maple garden in Jindai Botanical Garden.

We went to see fall color in Jindai Botanical Garden today.
Around here in Tokyo, we could see lots of colored leaves here and there.
It must be a good year for fall color this year.

神代植物公園に出かけてきました。
園内のモミジ園はきれいに色づき始めていました。
今年は、何だかいろんな所で、鮮やかな紅葉が見れるようで楽しいです。
因みに、鬼太郎茶屋の梨ソフトクリームは今期は終了したようで、完熟いちごソフトに替わっていました。

Jindai Botanical Garden (November 12th)

Waterfall of chrysanthemums at the entrance.

Today we went to Jindai Botanical Garden again to take pictures of chrysanthemums.
We found some nice fall colors already, too.

またまた神代植物公園へ。今回は菊の花の写真、撮ってきました。
たった１週間で、園内の木々の印象がかなり変わっていました。
紅葉もちらほら見つけられました。

色合いが素敵でした。


The size of these chrysanthemums is really huge...nearly the size of my face.


These chrysanthemums had thin petals like wire.
「管物」と呼ばれる種類。見事です。


こんな味のある色合いのものもありました。

深大寺境内では、こんなに色づいた紅葉もありました。


Taxodium distichum (Rakuushou) was still greenish yellow. It will turn orangish brown.
