Nogawa Park and Sengenyama (April 29th)

Nogawa Park... The willow leaves are beautiful now!

We went to Nogawa Park in our neighborhood.
We haven't been there for a while, and we were amazed all those trees are green now!
The seasons have changed so quickly.
There were lots of kinds of flowers blooming in the park.
After the Nogawa park we went to Sengenyama park, where we found lots of yellow orchid flowers.

Some Mountains near Mitake, Ome (April 17th)

Viola tokubuchiana var. takedana (Hina Sumire) near Mt. Sougaku.

Today we went to some hiking course near Mitake station.
We have visited this course every spring for a while, because we can find lots of violets on this course. It seemed it was a little too early for most of the violets except Viola tokubuchiana var. takedana (Hina Sumire) and Viola bissetii (Nagaba-no-sumiresaishin).

Viola bissetii (Nagaba-no-sumiresaishin).

The hybrid of Viola violacea var. makinoi (Makino Sumire) and Viola eizanensis (Eizan Sumire).

The view from Mt. Iwatake-ishi-yama.
We had lunch enjoying the nice view.
The soft green leaves were just starting to bud out.

Viola rossii (Akebono Sumire).

Viola violacea var. makinoi (Makino Sumire).

Viola violacea var. makinoi (Makino Sumire).

The cherry was still blooming on the way to Ikusabata station.
Here in Tokyo cherry blossoms were gone already!

Mt. Kakuda, Niigata (April 15th)

Erythronium japonicum (Katakuri).
The spring has come!

Another thing attracted us in Mt. Kakuda was that amazing number of flowers of Erythronium japonicum (Katakuri). The both side of the trails were covered with those pink flowers. When we visited there last time, it was a little too late for their peak, so we could see that many Erythronium japonicum (Katakuri) flowers then. However, this time we must have been there just in the right time... We were amazed with much more Katakuri flowers than we expected.
