稜線上に並ぶ巨岩の周りには高山植物が咲き乱れていました。

釣りの許可証みたいなのも手に入れたので、

花探しが落ち着いたら釣りにも挑戦したいと思います。

Angel Rocks (Part 1) (June 13th)

Viola biflora (Arctic Yellow Violet or Yellow Wood Violet).

こっちに来てお初のキバナノコマノツメ。

 Here is the first bunch of the pictures taken on our hike at Angel Rocks.
We found quite a few wild flowers blooming.  The most surprising one was Viola biflora (Arctic Yellow Violet or Yellow Wood Violet), which we can find in Japan, too.
It is interesting to know that so many kinds of wild flowers you can see here are similar to (or the same as) the ones growing in Japan, far far away from here.

フェアバンクスに来てから、自分たちにとっての「高尾山」的場所やら「奥多摩」的場所をさがしているのですが、ここAngel Rocksは、家からの行き易さからいってまさに「高尾山」的存在になりそうな、そんな場所です。
今回は、昨年来たときには見つけなかったスミレ2種を見ることができました。
特にキバナノコマノツメは、久しぶりに見る黄色いスミレにうれしくなりました。

We found lots and lots of these flowers blooming.

This is the place where we picked lots of berries in Autumn last year.
