Walk around the Neighborhood (March 29th & 31st)

Viola japonica (Ko Sumire) in our home garden.

I caught a bad cold this weekend, so we didn't go to anywhere special.  Here are the pictures taken this weekend.

Minami Takao to Mt. Kobotoke Shiroyama, Takao (March 23rd)

Viola chaerophylloides var. sieboldiana (Higo Sumire).

We went to see violet flowers in Minami Takao area.  We got up early in the morning and took trains to Hashimoto Sta., and then took the bus to Kami Nakazawa BS.
We walked from there to Oodarumi Pass, and then up to Mt. Kobotokeshiroyama, where we had lunch with Nameko soup.  After that we walked down to Hikage, where we found some Viola yezoensis f. discolor (Takao Sumire) leaves and a few flower buds.

We got off the bus at Kami Nakazawa BS.  We can see the tip of Mt. Fuji.

Here is the close-up of Mt. Fuji.

The Tsukui Lake from the view point near Nakazawa Pass.

It looked pretty different from last year.
We noticed the water lever was really low.

The violet with interesting leaves were still there.
It had no flowers this year, either...
