Jindaiji Area (October 2nd)

Cymbidium nipponicum (Maya-ran).

We went to the Chofu wholesale market today and we stopped by the Jindai Botanical Garden.
We found some Cymbidium nipponicum (Maya-ran) flowers again. If you look at them closely, they are really beautiful.
The roses must be late to bloom this year... We could find only a few of them blooming.

Victoria cruziana (Paraguay Oni-basu).

Victoria cruziana (Paraguay Oni-basu).

Waterlily.

Waterlily.

Waterlily.

Bush clover... One of the 7 autumn flowers in Japan.

Thank you for the comment, JP.
That's right. The bush clover is a kind of Lespedeza.

I have just planted in my garden L. bicolor. Is it one on your picture ? The flower seems too big. L.thunbergii ?
You were saying : "the 7 flowers of Japan..." What are you meaning exactly ?

It is really difficult to identify the kinds of Lespedeza.
I think it is Lespedeza bicolor...because the tips of the leaves aren't sharp like the ones of Lespedeza thunbergii.

There are 7 flowers of Spring and Autumn in Japan. Have you ever heard "Haru-no-Nana-kusa" and "Aki-no-Nana-kusa"?

Here are the 7 autumn flowers...
Lespedeza bicolor (Hagi)
Pueraria lobata (Kuzu)
Patrinia scabiosifolia (Ominaeshi)
Eupatorium fortunei (Fujibakama)
Platycodon grandiflorus (Kikyou)
Dianthus superbus var. longicalycinus (Nadeshiko)
Miscanthus sinensis (Susuki)

These 7 flowers appears in many Japanese classical writings including poems called "Waka".

Thanks Bioskop for all these details.
I didn't know Pueraria very invasive !
Could you translate in english:
Haru no nana kusa and aki no nana kusa please ?
Thanks
JP

"Haru" means "Spring".
"Aki" means "Autumn".
"Nana" means "Seven".
"Kusa" means "Plant".

So, "Haru-no-Nana-kusa" means the 7 plants in Spring, and "Aki-no-Nana-kusa" means the 7 plants in Autumn.

You are right !
