The Interesting Hybrid (May 15th)

 

The Interesting leaves of a hybrid of violet.  

One of the parent must be Viola chaerophylloides f. sieboldiana (Higo Sumire).

     Right after we went to take pictures of Viola chaerophylloides f. sieboldiana (Higo Sumire) and Viola hirtipes (Sakura Sumire), another violet fan we know found an amazing hybrid.  So I got up early in the morning and just quickly went to see it by myself before work.

 

The flower of the hybrid was finishing...  I hope we can see this next year!

 

The leaves look totally different from the hybrid a parent of which is Viola eizanensis (Eizan Sumire).

 

There were two nice plants and two young ones in a small place.

 

There were quite a few Viola hirtipes (Sakura Sumire), Viola chaerophylloides f. sieboldiana (Higo Sumire) and (Viola phalacrocarpa (Akane Sumire) around the area.

I can tell one of the parents is Viola chaerophylloides f. sieboldiana (Higo Sumire), but I can't tell which is the other parent without open flowers, so we have to come to see it next year.

Mt. Mitake, Mt. Ohdake and Mt. Hinode, Okutama (May 12th)

フモトは、きれいな距が見れる横顔が好きです。

     We went to Mt. Mitake and climbed Mt. Ohdake.  After climbing Mt. Ohdake, we went to Mt. Hinode and walked down to Tsurutsuru Hot Spring.  We found lots and lots of Viola sieboldi (Fumoto Sumire), but it might be not good year for Rhododendron quinquefolium (Shiroyashio, or Goyou Tsutsuji) this year.

御岳山から奥の院を経由して大岳山に行ってきました。

シロヤシオは今年はハズレの年なのかも…時期が少し早いのもあったのですが、蕾もあまり見当たりませんでした。ヤマシャクヤクの葉っぱが遠くにあるのをズームで確認して、大岳に向かいました。大岳山荘に行くまでの岩場でアカバナヒメイワカガミが咲き出していました。頂上直下のものはまだこれからといった様子。それにしても、フモトスミレがたくさん咲いていて、昨日の山歩きの疲れでバテ気味な自分たちを元気付けてくれます。

大岳から御岳に戻って、日の出山方面へ向かい、つるつる温泉に久しぶりに行ってきました。

ここのお豆腐がおいしいんです。

去年はたくさん咲いてましたが、今年はポツポツ。

つるつる温泉に下る途中、たくさんのヤマツツジが咲いているポイントがありました。

Some Mountains in Hinohara Village (May 11th)

    We went to Tokyo Tomin-no-mori for the first time.  We rode the bus from Musashi-itsukaichi Sta. for an hour or so to get to the park.  From the park we climbed Mt. Mitou.  It was a little late for violets, but we found quite a few Viola eizanensis (Eizan Sumire).
   From there we walked down on the ridge and we found quite a few of nice Viola hirtipes (Sakura Sumire) flowers and a couple of Viola chaerophylloides f. sieboldiana (Higo Sumire).

初めて都民の森まで出かけてきました。
三頭山も初めて登りました。ちょっと時期は過ぎつつありましたが、エイザンがずいぶんあるようです。そこからさらに尾根沿いを下ってスミレを探しに…今年もサクラスミレがちゃんと咲いていました。さらにヒゴも２株だけですが見つけました。

Ogouchi Pass and Mt. Gozen, Okutama (May 6th)

The greens were beautiful!

    We went to look for some violets in the Okutama area.  We got off the bus at Okutamako busstop and walked by the lake for a while, and then started to climb on the trail up to Ogouchi Pass.  It was sunny when we started, but just before getting to the pass, the storm was passing and we heard thunder pretty close to us.  However, the rain stopped in a while, and the sun came back.  We had lunch near the pass and then continued walking on the trail up to Mt. Sougaku and then Mt. Gozen.  Before arriving at Mt. Gozen, the storm was coming again, and when we got to the hut near Mt. Gozen, it pours with thunder.  It didn't stop soon this time, so we started to walk down on the trail.  We got to the busstop around 16:15 and made it to the 16:26 bus.  We took the last Okutama Holiday Rapid train back home.

奥多摩に出かけてきました。

奥多摩湖バス停から奥多摩湖沿いにしばし進んだ後、小河内峠を目指して歩き始めました。

程なくして稜線の防火帯に出るとフモトスミレがたくさん咲いているのに気づきました。

周りの緑がきれいで気持ちよかったです。ヒゴやオトメスミレなども見られました。

峠につく前になって、雨と雷が…結構、近くて怖かったです。

峠につくころには、また日が照ってきて、周囲を探してみるとマキノがたくさん咲いていました。

昼食をとってから、惣岳、御前山に向かうと、御前の避難小屋につく前から、また雨が降り出してきて、小屋について程なくして、また雷になりました。今度はやみそうにもないので、境橋に向かって下山を始めました。シコクスミレが結構、咲いていました。

雨にぬれた新緑も、より鮮やかできれいでしたよ。

３株ほど、ヒゴも見つけました。

峠を月夜見方面にちょっと行ったあたりに結構咲いています。
