Somewhere in the Western Tokyo Area (June 23rd)

Epipactis thunbergii (Kaki Ran).

I went to see Epipactis thunbergii (Kaki Ran) flowers for the first time in the west side of Tokyo.  This lovely orchid flowers were blooming by some rice paddies.  I didn't know this kind of view of the countryside still exists in Tokyo.

The first one I found today!

I ended up finding a big patch of them.

The flower's name "Kaki" comes from this flower color, which looks like persimmons.
Yet, this pink color definitely adds much charm to the orange color.

The side shot.

One of the prettiest orchids I have ever seen!
