Minami Takao Area, Part 1 (April 8th)

     Today I went to Minami Takao Area for the first time.  I took trains to Hashimoto sta. this morning and took 8:18 AM bus to Kami Nakazawa busstop.  In 25 minutes or so, the bus got to Kami Nakazawa, which is the end of this bus line.  Actually, I was the only passenger!
     From the busstop, I found the board with the map of the hiking trail and follow the sign and got to Mine-no-Yakushi Temple in a while.  There is a sign for the trail, so you can easily find which way to continue.  On this trail, there were little people, so it was nice and quiet.  In addition, there were quite a few violets, so it was so enjoyable!

期待していたヒゴスミレは残念ながら発見できませんでしたが、静かな山歩きを楽しめるコースをまたひとつ見つけられました。
コースは、橋本駅から８：１８発のバスで上中沢へ。（終点までやってきた乗客は自分だけでした！）バス停近くにコースマップの載ったボードが立っていたので、迷う心配もありません。林道をしばらく進むと峯の薬師に到着。津久井湖の眺めがすがすがしい！お目当てのスミレも、アカネやオカスミレ、ヒナスミレ、ナガバノスミレサイシンなど探していて楽しかったです。
何より高尾山や小仏周辺に比べたら、格段に人が少なくてリラックスできます。
峯の薬師からは、三沢峠、西山峠、中沢峠、コンピラ山、大洞山まで進んで、そこからUターン。
中沢峠から山下という集落（うかい鳥山がありました。）に下りて、高尾山口駅まで歩いてきました。
まずは、三沢峠を過ぎた辺りのところまでの写真から。

峯の薬師までは林道歩き。人が少なくて…というか、バス停からずっとひとりでした。

峯の薬師についたら、管理のおじさんに声をかけられて、里芋を購入。

気持ちよい津久井湖の眺めです。

ここに来て、両サイドに、津久井湖と城山湖が見えました。

 

It took about 1 hour from Kami Nakazawa Busstop to get this tower.

この電波塔のあたりまでバス停からちょうど１時間くらいかかりました。

三沢峠…午前１０時ごろ到着。この辺りで数組の人達とすれ違うようになりました。

三沢峠を過ぎたころから、ナガバノスミレサイシンのテリトリーがスタート。

The Akigawa Area (April 7th)

      Today I went to the Akigawa area to see Viola violacea (Shihai Sumire) flowers.
The trail was quiet and I met only one couple hiking.  It must have been a little early for Viola violacea (Shihai Sumire) flowers, so there weren't so many yet, but I found quite a few flowers blooming already.

シハイスミレを確認に行ってきました。ちょうど咲き始めたところのようで、可愛らしいピンクの花が落ち葉から顔を出していました。蕾のものもあるので、まだこれからしばらく楽しめそうです。

花柄に微毛が生えてます。タチツボよりも鮮やかな紫色。

Shinjuku Gyoen Park, Tokyo (April 6th)

 

Prunus x yedoensis cv. Amagi-yoshino x Prunus campanulata "Youkou" (陽光).

      After walking around Chidori-ga-fuchi, we moved to Shinjuku Gyoen Park for more cherry blossoms.  It is only 3 stops from Kudan-shita sta. to Shinjuku-3-chome sta. on Toei-Shinjuku line.  There were lots of people there, too.  And quite a few foreigners were visiting there.
      Before getting to the ticket machine, the guards checked the inside of every visitors' bags to make it sure that they don't bring in any alcohol drinks.  Weird!
      In the park there were lots of kinds of cherry blossoms blooming.  Someiyoshino cherry blossoms were not yet in peak, but still we could enjoy them.

千鳥ヶ淵をぐるっと散策した後、九段下から新宿３丁目に移動。新宿御苑に行ってきました。
こちらもものすごい人で賑わっていました。驚いたのは、門のところで、警備の人がバッグの中身をチェックしていたこと…アルコール持ち込み禁止なんだそうで、そこまでするんですね…
ソメイヨシノはまだ満開ではありませんが、十分楽しめます。何よりこちらはいろんな品種の桜が楽しめるのもよかったです。都内でアクセスしやすいからか、外国の方もたくさん桜を見に訪れていました。

この「アメリカ」 という品種…ほんのりピンクがきれいでした。

遠目から見ても印象的な紅色でした。

こんなにびっちり植えると面白いですね。

この濃いピンクの「陽光」という品種が目立っていました。

このシダレザクラも風に吹かれてきれいでしたよ。

In this park you can see quite a few kinds of cherry blossoms.

 

There is Japanese gardens with ponds in the park.

千鳥ヶ淵、新宿御苑と都会の桜を堪能した一日となりました。
