Oguni, Yamagata (May 4th)

Here are the pictures taken on the second day in Oguni.
We walked down the road from the hut toward the station.
We found lots of purple flowers of Anemone pseudoaltaica (Kikuzaki Ichige) by the road.
And then we took bus on the way to the station and had lunch at a shopping mall near the Oguni station. We took trains from there to my hometown.

５月４日の朝は、バスで来た道を、宿から歩いて戻ってみることにしました。８時過ぎに出発して、１１時５０分過ぎに、途中のバス停からバスに乗り込み、小国駅に戻りました。
色鮮やかな紫のキクザキイチゲがたくさん咲いていました。カタクリもところどころで咲きだしていました。
小国駅から電車を乗り継いで、夕方に実家にたどり着きました。


梅花皮荘の先に進むと、こいのぼりが飾られていました。


まだ雪がたっぷりあります。


巨大かまくらが作られていました。

ソメイヨシノよりもピンク色が濃いのが特徴。

行きのバスから見かけたピンクのキクザキイチゲ。だいぶ歩きつかれた頃に見つけられました。

上のピンク色の個体の傍らに咲いていたほんのりピンクがかったもの。

Oguni, Yamagata (May 3rd)

Oguni Sta. on the JR Yonesaka line. The local bus stop is right by the station.
(Not many buses a day, though...)

We decided to go back to my hometown in Yamagata for this Golden Week.
First, we went to Oguni town, which is located in the southern part of Yamagata prefecture.
I found some nice mountain pictures with snow on the internet, so we went to stay at Kairagi-sou hut near the Iide mountains.
There were more snow than we expected, but it was not so cold. As soon as we got to the hut, we went to climb Mt. Kurate, but it was pretty hard to get to the entrance of the trail because the snow covered the road up to there. By the trail to Mt. Kurate, there were lots of Shortia uniflora (Iwa Uchiwa) flowers blooming. The view was amazing from the ridge, but we started kinda late, so we couldn't make it to the summit and just came back to the hut and enjoyed the nice hot spring.

ゴールデンウィーク初日は、帰省の途中に、山形南部の小国町に行ってきました。
飯豊山塊の眺めがいいという倉手山に登ろうということで、梅花皮荘の予約も直前に取れたので、出かけてきました。
いつも帰省で利用する山形新幹線ではなく、上越新幹線で新潟駅へ行き、そこから米沢行きの快速べにばなで小国駅についたのが、１０：１１。そこから１０：２２発のバスで梅花皮（かいらぎ）荘へ。
ネットで調べていったのですが、その情報の年よりも雪が多かったようです。倉手山の登山道入り口にたどり着くまで、ちょっと不安になりましたが、登山道自体は分かりやすかったです。しばらくちょっとした急登が続くのですが、両側にイワウチワの花が咲き乱れていて、疲れを忘れさせてくれました。といっても、スタートがお昼ぐらいになってしまっていたので、山頂にまではいけず、途中で降りてきてしまいました。それでも稜線上からは残雪の山並みを見渡すことができました。
温泉からの眺めもすばらしくて、気持ちよかったです。

Snow was making interesting patterns on the mountains.

山座同定ができないのですが…これって飯豊の山並みっていいのだろうか…


中央でくねっている川は玉川。点々と小さな集落があります。
The view was amazing!


ちょっとシャーベット上になった雪。アイゼンを持っていきましたが、必要なしでした。


下りはあっという間でした。


The dinner at the inn. Boiled fern was delicious.
梅花皮荘の夕食。陶板焼きは牛肉ときのこでした。山菜はコゴミと、山にんじんかなぁ…どれもおいしかったです。


This one was my favorite! The Sashimi of Salvelinus leucomaenis (Whitespotted char, Iwana).
特に岩魚のお刺身がおいしかったです。食感もこりこりしてて最高でした。
