Chidori-ga-fuchi, Tokyo (April 6th)

 

Cherry blossoms at Chidori-ga-fuchi.

     Today we went to see cherry blossoms at Chidori-ga-fuchi.  From Kudan-shita sta. we walked by the moat seeing the beautiful cherry blossoms.  There were lots and lots of people enjoying the wonderful view.  It was not the peak yet, but it still looked amazing.  We don't really like the crowd, but it is worth visiting this site for cherry blossom season.

千鳥ヶ淵に桜を見に出かけてきました。九段下駅からはたくさんの人で賑わっていました。
基本的にたくさん人がいるところは苦手なのですが、それでもここの桜は見に来る価値があると思います。まだ満開には早いですが、十分、春気分を満喫できました。

     The other day one of the researcher for ARKive, the project of promoting the conservation of the world's threatened species, through the power of wildlife imagery, contacted us to ask us to offer some violet pictures.   And now those pictures are on their website.

ARKiveというサイトを皆さんはご存知でしょうか？

多分、知らない人がほとんどなのでは？かく言う自分も全く知りませんでした。

どうやら地球上の動植物の画像を後世に残していこうというようなプロジェクトなのだそうです。

というのも、２ヶ月ほど前、そのARKiveの研究員の方からメールを頂いて、２種のスミレの画像を提供させていただくことになりました。自分では、こんな画像でいいのかなぁ…と思いつつ…現在、公開されています。

このARKive、どうやら哺乳類、鳥類の画像が充実しているようで、どれも素晴らしい写真が並んでいます。地球の生物の多様性が垣間見えるような、そんなサイトになっています。

Kogesawa, Takao Area (April 1st)

 

Chrysosplenium album var. stamineum (Hana Nekonome) at Kogesawa.

    From the top of Mt. Kagenobu, we went down to Kogesawa.  When we get to the creek, we found lots of tiny white flowers of Chrysosplenium album var. stamineum (Hana Nekonome).

We also found some Anemone flaccida (Nirin-sou) flowers blooming and as for violets we found quite a few of Viola bissetii (Nagaba-no-Sumiresaishin) but few of Viola eizanensis (Eizan Sumire) flowers yet.

景信山からは小下沢へ下りました。沢に出ると、たくさんのハナネコノメが咲き乱れていました。

ニリンソウも咲き出しています。スミレ類は、ナガバノスミレサイシンが咲いていますが、エイザンはまだ葉っぱの状態。相方が一輪、開花してるのを見つけただけでした。タカオスミレは、蕾が出はじめていますが、いつものポイントは、結構、踏まれてしまっているようでした。

ヤマルリソウも咲いていました。

（帰りは大下からバスで帰ろうと思って、バス停で待っていたのですが、やって来たバスが満杯で、「きっと臨時の２台目もあるだろう。」と思って１台目に乗らなかったら、２台目がありませんでした…結局、高尾駅まで小仏沢沿いを歩いて帰りました。）

満開状態。赤い葯がまだついているものも結構、ありました。

かなり咲いていましたが、まだまだこれから楽しめそうです。

小さな蕾をつけていました。

（周囲はかなり踏まれてしまっています。）

色合いがきれいですが、なかなか再現できない。

梅園を訪れる人もかなりいました。

こちらは日影で咲いていました。

先週は蕾も見当たらなかったのが、今回は咲いていました。

こちらも先週は見当たらなかったのが、綺麗な青い花を咲かせていました。

知ってる人は知ってるタカオスミレのスポット。

１輪咲いていました。

Mt. Kagenobu (April 1st)

 

Cymbidium goeringii (Shun-ran).

今年もシュンランの季節になりました。

     Today we went to find Cymbidium goeringii (Shun-ran) flowers at Mt. Kagenobu.
We found lots of Cymbidium goeringii (Shun-ran) flowers blooming there this year. There were so many beautiful flowers blooming close to each other that we hardly needed to move around to see lots of them.   After taking pictures of them.  At the top of Mt. Kagenobu there were quite a few visitors there, and we had lunch with the Mameko-jiru (mushroom soup).

景信山のシュンランを観察しに出かけてきました。（PCがクラッシュしていてアップが遅れていました。）
小仏バス停から登山口まででは、アオイスミレ、タチツボスミレなんかが咲いています。
本題のシュンランの方は、例年よりもちょうど見ごろに当たったようで、ほとんど歩き回ることなく、あっちにもこっちにもという感じで人知れず咲いてくれていました。
こんなブログ書いておきながらなんですが、「団体さんに見つかりませんように！」

光に透かして見るとよりいっそうきれいです。

There were lots of flowers blooming, but there were also lots of buds to bloom yet.

These ones were hiding under the fallen leaves, so they looked whitish.
