Hokkaido Trip 《Day 4》 (August 8th)

Around 4:45 in the morning. It was still cloudy when I got up.
朝起きてみると、まだ曇り空。雨さえ降らなければいいのですが…

Here are the pictures taken on the 4th day of our trip, August 8th.
We would stay at the same hut one more night, so we took only what we need with us and left for Mt. Hokkaidake and Mt. Hakuundake.

黒岳石室で一晩ぐっすりやすんだ後、午前中は天気が回復するとのことで、北海岳、白雲岳と歩くことにしました。ナキウサギが見られたらなぁ…なんて思っていたのですが、鳴き声が聞こえるだけで、その姿を目にすることは出来ませんでした。北海岳に向かう途中、霧が晴れたのも束の間、その後は、ほとんどガスっていて、午後には小雨も降ってきてしまいました。
北海岳から白雲岳への道では、キバナシオガマ、クモイリンドウなどの大雪山特有の植物も少ないながら見つけられました。


When we left the hut, we could see a little bit of blue sky.
石室を出る頃は、ちょっとだけ青空も見えていました。


First we walked down to a river...
石室を出るとしばらくくだりが続きます。


Soon we got to a pretty big river and had to cross it.
程なくして川を渡ります。結構な流れで、足の踏み場にちょっと戸惑ってしまいました。


There were still snow on the way to Mt. Hokkaidake.
まだ雪が残っているところもあります。


On the way up to Mt. Hokkaidake, the fog was clearing up for a while.
北海岳への登りの途中、ガスが途切れて、雄大な光景が広がります。

We could see blue sky for a while.


緑の鮮やかさに目を奪われました。


Penstemon frutescens (Iwa Bukuro).


Pedicularis verticillata (Takane Shiogama).


The top of Mt. Hokkaidake.
The strong wind was blowing up there.
We had some snack and left for Mt. Hakuundake.
北海岳の頂上。強風が吹きつけていて、ガスがかかっていて、御鉢平は見えません。


In a while, we could see the caldera hidden in the thick fog.
そうこうしていたら、ちらっとだけガスの切れ間から、御鉢平が見えました。


Solidago virgaurea var. leiocarpa (Miyama Aki-no-kirin-sou, Koganegiku).
今回、よく目に付いたのは、このミヤマアキノキリンソウの黄色い花。
去年よりも、今年は秋が早く訪れているような気がします。


Gentiana nipponica (Miyama Rindou).
この青い花もよく見かけます。


Veronica stelleri var. longistyla (Ezo Hime Kuwagata).


Artemisia trifurcata var. pedunculosa (Ezo Hahakoyomogi).
地味な花ですが、これも大雪山固有。


Looking back at Mt. Hokkaidake.
北海岳を振り返ると、こんな感じ。白雲岳まではしばしなだらかな道が続きます。


Gentiana algida f. igarashii (Kumori Rindou).
This plant grows only in the Mt. Daisetsu area.
大雪山固有種のクモイリンドウ。この株を含めて２株しか見つけられませんでした。


Pedicularis oederi var. heteroglossa (Kibana Shiogama).
This one also grows only in this area.
花の本などで存在は知っていましたが、ピンク系のシオガマがほとんどな中で、この鮮やかな黄色はやっぱり驚きです。


Saussurea yanagisawae (Usuyuki Touhiren).
こちらも今年はもう花期が過ぎているものが多かったです。


After we crossed a bigger snowy place, we got to the rocky area, where I could hear the sounds of Ochotona hyperborea yesoensis (Ezo Naki Usagi).
岩場が目立つところにくると、ナキウサギの鳴き声が聞こえるようになりました。

個人的に、このちっちゃい花が大好きです。

The junction to Mt. Hakuundake, Mt. Koizumidake, and the Hakuun Hut.
白雲岳への分岐。ここからヘアピンカーブとは言わないまでも、来た道とV字に進んでいく感じ…
確かに、ここまでの途中で、何箇所か、直接、白雲岳へ登るのを禁じる印がついていました。

The wind was so strong!
From there, we took the same way back to the Kurodake Ishimuro Hut.
風が強くて、ガスっていて、何も見えません。
しばし休憩した後、来た道を石室まで戻ります。


Veronica stelleri var. longistyla (Ezo Hime Kuwagata).
群生を見つけました。


Arnica unalaschcensis (Ezo Usagigiku).


Gentiana algida f. igarashii (Kumori Rindou).
もう１株、発見。清楚な花です。


Primula cuneifolia (Ezo Ko Zakura).


We crossed this bigger snowy place.
途中、雪渓を横切ります。


Vulpes vulpes schrencki (Kita Kitsune) found on the way back to Mt. Hokkaidake.
北海岳に戻る途中、キタキツネを見つけました。こちらを気にすることなく、えさを探しているようでした。


Phyllodoce caerulea (Ezo-no-Tsugazakura).


Geum pentapetalum (Chinguruma).


This is the same river we crossed in the morning.
この日の朝も渡った川。実はこの川、御鉢平から流れ出ています。
（だから飲めないらしい。）


Solidago virgaurea var. leiocarpa (Miyama Aki-no-kirin-sou, Koganegiku) and Geum pentapetalum (Chinguruma).
It seemed that autumn had arrived earlier there than last year.
こんな秋めいた光景があちらこちらで感じられました。


Phyllodoce caerulea var. yezoensis (Ko Ezo Tsugazakura) or Phyllodoce caerulea f. takedana (Yuupari Tsugazakura)?
これぐらい押しつぶされたような形ならユウパリツガザクラっていってもいいのかなぁ？
雑種はやっぱり難しいです。

There were lots of colors for this kind of plant.
There is a big variety of hybrids between this and Phyllodoca aleutica (Ao-no-Tsugazakura).
同じピンクでもいろいろな色合い、形があって、見ていて飽きません。

When I got up to pee at that night, the sky was covered with beautiful stars!
I could see the Milky Way, too!
この日の夜、起きてみると、空には一面の星が…天の川、久々に見ました。
