Jindai Botanical Garden (January 9th)

There was ice on the surface of the pond.

We went to Jindai Botanical Garden to see if any frost flower was growing.
However, it wasn't cold enough around here in Tokyo, so the frost was really tiny.
Instead, we found plum flowers blooming already.

神代植物公園に出かけてきました。
園内のシモバシラは、ほんのちょっとだけ氷花をつけていました。ほんのちょっとだけ…
梅園では梅がもう咲き始めています。
温室では、バニラやカカオの花が咲いていました。


Mandrake or Mandragora.
ハリーポッターでも登場したマンドレイク（マンドラゴラ）。
ナス科なので、花がナスっぽいです。

Prunus mume "Touji" (冬至).

紅梅もちらほら咲き出していました。

Calliandra haematocephala in the greenhouse.
ネムノキとかの仲間なのかなぁ…丸っこくてかわいらしかったです。


Vanilla planifolia. You can tell this is a kind of orchid.
バニラの花も咲いていました。ランの仲間と知っていましたが、花を見たのは初めて。納得です。


Theobroma cacao.
こちらはカカオの花。ちっちゃいです。
