Mt. Kakuda, Niigata (April 17th)

JR Maki Station. From here we took the bus to the entrance of the trail to Mt. Kakuda.

We took the bus to Jonnobi-kan BS and then took one of the trail from there. It was too late for the Erythronium japonicum (Katakuri) flowers, but we found amazingly lots of the plants growing in that mountain. We also found Viola violacea var. makinoi (Makino Sumire) flowers, but they look pretty different from the ones growing in the Okutama area.

Heterotropa megacalyx (Koshi-no-kan-aoi).

Epimedium sempervirens (Tokiwa Ikari-sou).

Hello Kazuya. I just followed the link from Daniel's website. I thought I would say Hello. Nice photos.

I hope everything is going well for you. I think I remember Daniel writing that you were now an English teacher. Congratulations!!!

I hope you are enjoying the teaching adventures.

Bye for now.

Hello Joel. I'm teaching several subjects at a cram school. So it is nothing special. Sometimes I teach Math, even classical Japanese (like some passages from "The Tale of Genji", etc.), too! In a few days it will be "Golden Week" here in Japan, so we will take a trip somewhere soon again.
