Cherry blossom.
Today we went to Koishikawa Botanical Garden to see the cherry blossoms. Soon after we entered the garden, we found some small violets on the ground. It was Viola diffusa (Tsukushi Sumire), which we both had never seen before. I got the information last year from the internet about these violets somehow live in this garden even thought they originally grow in Kyushu and Okinawa. The cherry blossoms were in their peak and lots of visitors enjoyed having party under the trees.
小石川植物園にお花見に出かけてきました。桜はもちろん素晴らしかったのですが、ツクシスミレをはじめて見ることができました。愛らしい花に、思わず何枚も写真を撮ってしまいました。

こうして見ると、やっぱりチューリップの仲間というのも納得です。
