Shinjuku Gyoen Park (November 1st)

Autumn color at Shinjuku Gyoen Park.

Today I went to Shinjuku Gyoen Park to see the chrysanthemum exhibition. I saw many different kinds of chrysanthemums in different ways of display. Then I went to have lunch at Berg in Shinjuku sta. After drinking a little beer, I went to Gokokuji sta. on Yurakucho-line to get some famous Mame-Daifuku (Rice cake mixed with red peas and stuffed with sweeten red beens inside) at Gunrindo. It tasted so good!

Sawai and Mitake (October 31st)

Autumn color beside the Tama river near the Sake brewery at Sawai.

Today I went to Sawai and walked down by the Tama river to Mitake sta. First I stopped by the Ozawa Sake brewery and tasted some Sake with Tofu made at the Tofu restaurant in the neighborhood. Then I headed to Mitake sta. walking down beside the river. Autumn color was just starting, but I saw many persimmon and Yuzu citron trees with lots of fruits here and there. Near Mitake sta. I had lunch at the old Soba noodle shop. Then I was going to go to Mt. Mitake, but the top of the mountain was covered with clouds, so I decided to just hang around near the station, and had another lunch at the Ramen shop across the station!

Jindaiji, Chofu (October 24th)

Sky blue morning-glory at Jindai Botanical Garden.

I went to Jindai Botanical Garden to see some rose flowers today. First, I ate Soba noodles and fried Soba (Age Sobagaki) at Yuusui. This time I ordered "Yuusui Soba", which they produce only 20 servings a day on weekdays. The noodles tasted so good and Fried Soba-gaki had some natural sweet flavor of buckwheat itself. Then I went to the garden. There were quite a few people even on the weekday. Lots of kinds of roses were blooming and the orchid exhibition was held in the greenhouse. I saw some orchids, which I've never seen.
